— Discover the Art of Attar Making: The Deg-Bhapka Method —

The Deg-Bhapka method is a centuries old, artisanal process of creating natural attars.This process uses the traditional copper equipment to capture the essence of flowers, herbs, and woods.

Deg-Bhapka Method

STEP 1:  PREPARING THE DEG

  • Fresh flowers or raw botanicals are carefully selected and placed in the Deg (copper still).

  • Water is added to release their natural essence when heated.

STEP 2 : SEALING THE DEG

​

  • The Deg is sealed with a clay mixture to prevent any loss of aroma during the distillation process.

  • This step ensures the purity of fragrance.

STEP 3: HEATING THE DEG

​

  • The Deg is gently heated using a wood-fired flame to ensure a slow distillation process.

  • This allows the floral essences to be released in its purest form.

STEP 4: THE BHAPKA (COLLECTOR FLASK)

​

  • The aromatic steam travels through a bamboo pipe and condenses into the bhapka (collector flask).

  • This flask holds the liquid gold – the natural attar essence.

STEP 5: COOLING AND MIXING

​

  • The Bhapka is cooled using earthen pots filled with water to liquify the collected essence.

  • Natural base oils like sandalwood oils are added to blend and preserve the essence.

FINAL STEP: BOTTLING AND STORAGE

​

  • The attar is carefully bottled in traditional vials, ready to evoke timeless aromas.

  • Every drop carries the soul of nature, perfected by heritage.
